Introduction from the trustees
Inside Out
Trust works with offenders
in prison, giving them opportunities to do work that they know
will deliver real benefits to other people. Offenders tell us,
again and again, that the experience of “doing
good” makes a difference for them. They
feel they are making amends, putting something back. Experience
of working with thousands of offenders confirms our belief, that
each one of us can do useful work, and contribute to the good
of others and to our communities.
All our projects reflect that belief – in the good that
individuals can do – also our belief in partnership, in
working together.
All our projects are partnerships. They involve offenders, prison
officers and governors, staff and volunteers, suppliers and beneficiaries.
The staff
team is truly remarkable. Project work is
ably led by the six Regional Co-ordinators. The staff of the office
in Hurstpierpoint, the Administrators in the Regions, specialist
staff working on Braille projects, the newsletter and website
complete the team.
We could not achieve so much without the excellent work of our
volunteers who support individual projects, teach Braille and
Moon, collect and deliver goods, and many other tasks that a growing
organisation needs on a daily basis.
Trustees themselves are volunteers. They juggle the demands of
employment, families and the rest of their lives while dedicating
their individual talents and drive to the Trust. Outside the immediate
Inside Out Trust team, we are exceedingly grateful to the multitude
of prison staff, prisoners, funders, suppliers, supporters and
everyone else who helps us to achieve so much together for so
many different groups of people all over the world.
We are always pleased to hear from people who are interested
in working with us as volunteers, trustees, partners or funders.
